It has been a few days since my last post... for some this is nothing new as they don't post very often, but me being a daily type up until now the gap seems a bit odd. So, where have I been? Living. I decided to enjoy things a little bit more. I breathe deeper, write more, read more, watch TV, take a nap on the couch, don't set the alarm clock... basically, less worrying. We spend so much time worrying and stressing about things that are so ridiculous in the end. Why bother? We're defined by time. What time is it? Do I have enough time to go here or there? What time do I need to leave? And on and on... we become slaves to the clock. Yes, anyway, I've been living and enjoying it.
I've been talking more and more to Jessica through Yahoo IM (today is her birthday incidentally) and really getting to know her. Definitely enjoying her friendship.
My collie and I went for a long walk today... we just kind of toured the surrounding neighborhood to the point where it breaks into the city. It's a lovely area. We ran into a lot of other doggies though. They were all tied up and lived in little wood houses that appeared to have been slapped together with very little care. They also seemed to have a lot of anger issues. These were the dogs "Beware of Dog" signs were made for. Annie, of course, didn't quite fit in. She's an inquisitive, sweet tempered dog. She rarely barks and is incredibly smart. As they bark ferociously at her she just sits down on the sidewalk and stares at them. She also lives in an apartment, is spoiled and sleeps on the bed with me. The dogs out there and her are in a different class... Annie wanted to fit in and it appeared the other dogs wanted to eat her.
Started a movie from Netflix, The Elephant Man. It was released in 1980 and is "based on" the real life story Joseph Merrick, known as the Elephant Man. He was an incredibly intelligent person trapped in a hideous body. I remember studying about him a few years ago (not for a class, but just out of interest) and it's really a great story. Anyway, the movie stars Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt and Anne Bancroft (who passed away in June of cancer, R.I.P.), so how bad can it be? It's shot entirely in black and white. I started it, but only watched a few minutes before I headed off to bed. Looking forward to watching more later.
And so it goes...
