Tonight I'm volunteering at the theater where I used to work, so I figured I'd go ahead and post a little now since it'll be late before I get back. Finished watching The Elephant Man and I really enjoyed it. Not exactly like the true story of Joseph Merrick, but I guess that's what "based on" means. Also, watched A Murder of Crows. I really enjoyed this movie, it had a very interesting plot. I won't recommend it for everyone since there is a bit of nudity. The movie is carried heavily by the performance of Cuba Gooding, Jr., who left me a bit wanting. I couldn't grasp his take on the character... it seemed like each different scene he was playing a different person; he's not one of my favorite actors, but he did a good job. It felt like the movie should be a play.
Still reading Stephen King's Rose Madder and it is just now diving into the creepy, mystical stuff (in other words, it's starting to get good). It's a good book, dealing with a wife who leaves her abusive husband.
I've quit Mello Yello. Yes, I know, but this time I mean it. It's been two days since my last one. I've also started doing 25 sit-ups each day and have been doing that for the past five or six days. I'm trying to get into shape and I'm well on my way.
Interesting article on CNN.com where CNN.com readers give advice to the president... I really enjoyed reading this and have said many of these things myself. Really agreed with a woman from California who said, "Remember, you are the President of the United States, not the world." Definitely worth a read.
And so it goes...
