Well, CNN.com proved to be a huge amount of entertainment for me today as several headlines caught my eye.
President Bush has pardoned two turkeys, names Marshmallow and Yam. They are the country's official turkeys. Usually when turkeys are pardoned they are sent to a farm, but this year, Marshmallow and Yam are headed south. Yes, these two birds are going to Disneyland where they will be the honorary grand marshals of the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Also, "Sam 'the Ugliest' Dog" died at 14. He was a very, very ugly dog and won the "ugliest dog" contest several times. He met Donald Trump, and so on.
Now... with these two headlines, is it any wonder other countries think we're crazy?
A neat headline that caught my eye (yes, I just used the word "neat") was that of a 18-year-old high school senior in Michigan that has been sworn in as mayor. Apparently, he used $700 from a summer job to run for mayor. He won by 2 votes against the former mayor, who was 51. Yes, he won by 2 votes and he was a write-in candidate! Hmm...
I would actually post something about me, but today the headlines were just too good to pass up!
And so it goes...
