Today was a very special day of the year. Today I had to turn on the heat in my apartment. Yes, it's that time of year; the warm days fade and the cold days dominate. I usually love the cold weather, but I wasn't prepared for it to hit so suddenly. Last night when walking my dog I found myself wishing I had worn a coat (even though I had on a sweater). Well, bring on October.
Checking my birthday list, today is also the 25th birthday of one of my nephews (the middle one). The other two turned 26 and 23 this year. That's right, I'm the "younger uncle." Rolling in at 21, I am a good two years behind my youngest nephew. I do have two great-nephews though. One is 4 and the other turns 2 on October 6. So, happy birthday to all these people and more!
Still reading Katherine Neville's The Eight, but am starting to get bored. I'm over 300 pages in and it's starting to drag. I really don't want to give up now since I've invested so much time into it. I'm hoping it picks up again soon.
So, staying on the topic of books, I'll end this post with some book recommendations. I highly recommend checking out author Dan Brown. Yes, the man known for The Da Vinci Code. I recommend reading the Da Vinci Code, it's a wonderful book that makes you think. Also, I really enjoyed his book Digital Fortress.
