The Celebrity Packed 50th Post

Today is Stephen King's 58th birthday!! He is one of the handful of authors that I credit with my desire to become a writer. It's not necessarily his talent that I look up to; it's his life. Or, rather, the simplicity of his life. He leads a normal life in Maine with his wife (Tabitha King, also a writer). The way he made it from a nothing school teacher to one of the most popular writer's of our time is inspiring. Hey, the guy could write the worst book ever and it'd be a #1 New York Time Bestseller. Yeah, baby!

I watched Martha Stewart on the Late Show with David Letterman Monday. She looked great (it's hard to believe she's 64). I hold a lot of respect for Martha. I mean, in spite of her guilt or innocence, she decided to go ahead and spend her time in jail. I don't know if I could ever have that kind of courage. She continues to appeal her case and... the cherry on the sundae, she's more successful and popular now than before she went to jail. Right on, Martha!

Also, the "Quote of the Moment" (to the right) has changed. It's now a quote from late night host David Letterman. The quote may not be as "deep" as previous quotes, but I think it's worthy of acknowledgement.

So, keeping with the celebrity theme of this post, I'll recommend a celebrity book. Find Me by Rosie O'Donnell. It's a very unique and interesting book. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I have read it about three times since it came out in 2002. I recommend if you come across this title, you check it out. It's worth your time.

Ah... well, it's not necessarily a blessing more than it's a lack of a social life. :)
