eBay, Netflix, Texas, and Mutual Funds

My return to eBay has been better than expected. I put one item up for 1 cent and it's at $3.25 right now with 3 days left. One item started at $5 and is now at $11.51... I'm loving it. Yipee for eBay!

I finished watching my third Netflix movie this week. It was Below and I really enjoyed it. It was exciting and had characters that you could somewhat like and care about. I sensed a lot of similarities between Below and the movie Sphere. Basically, a small group of people stuck underwater with an outside force against them. With Sphere it was extraterrestrial, with Below it was paranormal. Anyway, really enjoyed it.

A tad bit upset when I read on CNN.com that Texas passed a law to ban gay marriage. Now, I have several family members who live in Texas and I don't have anything against the state, per se. I guess I shouldn't really have been surprised by the level of ignorance it takes to pass these bans and the pride the people who pass them feel. It is the headquarters of the Bush empire, after all. My only comment is that not too long ago women weren't allowed to vote, drive, or own land. Not very long ago, African Americans and other races had even less rights than women. But, (and hear this government) you were wrong then, and you're wrong now. That's all, nothing more.

Talked to my personal finance teacher today about switching around some money I have in the bank to a higher return mutual fund. I'll see him again Monday and I should have a better idea of what I'll be needing his help with... He gave me some literature to read on a mutual fund that is doing 14% over 10 years right now, and I think that may be the way to go.

That's it for me tonight, all. Peace.
