Okay, I know this is going to sound strange, but I think I gave my dog fleas. Anyway, I went to the store to pick out a flea collar, since powder, sprays, and sheer goodwill did not seem to eliminate them. While picking out the flea collar I spot these little vitamins... "People Vitamins." Advertised as: "The shapes dogs love to eat." There was a mailman, a police officer, a delivery man. It was adorable. I almost bought them, but I figured that's what they wanted. They try to hook the pet people with adorable little things like that. Like my dog is going to look up at me and say, "Oh, aren't those just precious! Now I'll take my vitamins!"
In other dog news, I read an article on CNN.com's Offbeat news where a 6 month old puppy, Elsie, swallowed a 13-inch serrated knife! Sheesh! Keep the knives away from the puppies, ya'll. When will humans ever learn?
I've been thinking more and more about happiness and its effect on creativity. There have been studies showing that depression and the like are connected to creativity and I sure do believe it. I've found since being "happier" I've been writing less. Having less "deep" thoughts. I've always known I didn't want to get rid of my depression altogether, since it does allow a more enlightened view (and sometimes distorted) of the world around me. Oh, well.
I bought a little thing at the college some time ago called "Therapist in a Box." It's really cute; it has a little chair and a timer (for the therapist) and 10 cards with quotes as well as a little book with information. I'll start including some of the things in this blog. Today's is: "The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans if suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they are okay, then it's you" - Rita Mae Brown.
